Maranatha BAPTIST
   FELLOWSHIP's
25th Anniversary

       (August 2024)

Special events

It's been 25 years since the founding of Maranatha Baptist Fellowship in Somerset, New Jersey, and we have much for which to be thankful. A celebration of this landmark anniversary will take place on Sunday, September 1st after the morning service.

Our Heavenly Father has faithfully been with us, guided us, and blessed us during this first quarter century of our existence, and we continue to look to Him as we move into the second quarter of our history as a community of believers who love Him and His people and seek to do His will in our lives, our families, and our town.

To God be the glory for the things He has done!

Passover
Starting Monday, April 22, 2024

Special events

This year, Maranatha Baptist Fellowship is moving to God's timetable and will recognize and seek the Lord in special ways on His appointed Feast Days, starting with Passover, which begins Monday, April 22nd this year.

On Passover, we will pray facing the Holy of Holies, eat unleavened bread (symbolizing an absence of sin--or "leaven"), and consider eating fish or lamb, all in an effort to honor God and His choice of special times during the year. We are not Jewish or trying to be Jewish, but God has set the Spring and Fall Feasts as His special days--for all eternity--and we are choosing to come to Him and to remember Him especially on those days in special ways, that is "choosing to meet Him on His terms at His appointed times".

Happy Passover! Let's give thanks for our Passover Lamb: Jesus!

PENTECOST
sUNday, MAY 28tH

Jesus' Church began in that Upper Room on that first Pentecost, when the disciples received the power from on high that Jesus had promised He would send, evidenced by the sudden wind they heard and felt and the tongues of fire they saw descending upon each other (see Acts, chapter 2). They then went out and began to share the Gospel, the story of Jesus, what He had come to Earth to do, what He did, and what that means for everyone who chooses to believe and follow Him.

Come celebrate the giving of the gift of the Holy Spirit to Jesus' disciples--those who've gone before us and we today who believe in and follow the Lord Jesus Christ and are empowered by His Spirit to do the works that He prepared ahead of time for us to do (see the Epistle to the Ephesians, chapter 2, verse 10).

Good friday service
Friday, april 7th 12:00-3:00pm

Jesus gave Himself as the Perfect Lamb to suffer our punishment for sin, including separation from God the Father as He, Jesus, hung on the Cross of Calvary on that Good Friday afternoon and then willingly died for each of us--only to be triumphantly resurrected again three days later on Resurrection Sunday.

Come join us at 2 Deerfield Road in Somerset this coming Good Friday, from 12:00-3:00 p.m. and remember with us this special gift of salvation that God provided for all who will believe.
